15 YEARS TOGETHER

Puppy Finding 101: Welcome

15 Years is A Lot of Years

We are committed to the pups we breed. We ask that you are too. This is on average a 15 year commitment which should not be taken lightly. Although we will take our pups back at any time, going back and fourth like this can be difficult and sad for the pup. We pride ourselves in finding only committed forever homes who know what they want and need in a dog.

If you don't like the way we do things ..

Hey that's ok. We all do things differently, we try to do things that work out the best for everyone involved. Please be wary. We hear about families being scammed on a daily basis. Should you find yourself seeking out other breeders, they should be able to provide 10 references.

9 Signs Of A Puppy Scam

  1. Prices are too good to be true, or the price is negotiable, on sale or at a discounted price

  2. Puppy is free if you pay for shipping

  3. The seller won’t talk on the phone and only communicates through emails or texts

  4. The only way to get the puppy is to have it shipped to you, and you can’t pick it up

  5. You must pay by money transfer or prepaid debit card

  6. After you make a payment, there are suddenly more expenses (e.g., shipping insurance, vet bills, crate fees, etc.)

  7. The seller tells you a sad story about why the puppy is for sale for reasons such as family hardship, relocation, or death

  8. If the seller says something like, “We’re not breeders. Our dog just had puppies, so we’re trying to find them a good home.” A red flag that it’s a potential scam.

  9. The puppy’s photo is in other ads (discovered when you do a reverse image search)

Questions You Need to Ask Yourself

Is everyone who will be involved in your pups life fully committed to the idea of a new family member?

Puppies are adorable but they do grow into adults. Do you know what is important to you as an adult - in terms of finishing size, look and temperament? (click here for our size terms)

Have you figured out your budget? Over the span of 15 years the initial purchase cost of your puppy will amount to just pennies a day. However, are you prepared to incur routine as well as unexpected medical costs for the duration of the dogs life?

Do you have a plan for housetraining?

Are you going to take time off of work to bond and let the puppy adjust?

Do you plan on obedience training? (You should) There is not a single dog breed in the world that doesn't benefit from knowing their place in a family, and bonding with the people they love most.
